Alina, there are numerous excellent books about the Medici family, and we read many of them as well as consulted with historians. I can't say this book shaped the story of our series, but I particularly enjoyed and would recommend Medici Money by Tim Parks. I was struck by Mr. Parks' many insights into what has given the Medici family such lasting significance and importance.
